I felt the same...
In 2016, while at university, my life suddenly derailed. After taking a prescription medication, I developed intense, debilitating headaches.
I was already dealing with some minor neurological symptoms, but to me this was completely new: 4 to 5 days a week, I had 2-3 hours in the day where I was paralyzed by pain levels of 6 to 8.
I had worked incredibly hard to earn a spot to study abroad at a prestigious university in Japan. But instead of fully living that experience, I frequently had to bail on friends, unable to attend classes, just lying alone in a dark room.
Even when I pursued my passion for acting, the reality behind the curtain was very different: I was heavily medicated, constantly over-caffeinating, and popping painkillers just to artificially manage my pain level for the day.
